The company was established in 1992 to provide high quality independent financial planning and investment services. We have a team of well qualified and experienced advisers, some of whom have over 30 years experience in the business. In March 2008 we acquired the financial planning arm of a major North West firm of Chartered Accounts bringing top level experience and knowledge to the business. Experience means nothing without the power to communicate our expertise and we are proud of our command of the English language and our ability to explain complicated issues without resorting to jargon!
The term Independent Financial Adviser is frequently misunderstood. We are required to research the whole of the market before making any recommendations and we have some powerful systems to help us. This, though, is only part of the story. We act as your agent, so are required by law to place always act in your best interests. These two factors represent a formidable combination. You can always be assured that you will receive properly researched advice delivered in an easily understood format.
The company takes education and professional development very seriously and all our advisers are encouraged to study towards further qualifications. All advisers have to keep up to date with developments and changes legislation, so we always have the right information at our fingertips.
The company operates from offices in Nelson and Sheffield and we are happy to see clients at their place of work, home or in our offices.
All clients are offered the choice between paying by fee, or allowing us to be remunerated by commission. Sometimes a combination of the two is the most appropriate.
McParland & Partners Limited's Sheffield Office is managed by a director of the company, Stewart Tomlinson. Stewart joined the company in 2008 when it acquired the financial planning arm of CLB Coopers, Chartered Accountants.
Stewart spent 17 years running that business and has over 30 years experience in investment and financial planning. He is recognised as a pensions transfer specialist and has particular skills in managing and restructuring company pension schemes. In addition Stewart has long experience of dealing with professional firms and specialist tax planning schemes.
